Abstract

The case described by us shows that such a rare heart tumor as hemangioma develops in utero and may pose a threat to life from neonatal period, causing hemodynamic disturbances or obstruction of blood flow in the heart. It is not always possible to remove the tumor without partial resection of the heart’s parts that have intimately fused with the tumor. This can be resulted in disruption of the heart, leading to such terrible complications as arrhythmias, aneurysms, and blood clots in the heart chambers. However, in our case, the nearest and remote periods of observation indicated a satisfactory state of health of the child and functioning of his heart.
